Introduction

The purpose of this report is to deeply analyze the information system for a shipping company, FedEx Ground. This research project very are focusing on business strategy used by FedEx Ground to achieve their goals. By the end, we have provided recommendations for the improvement of their Management Information System (MIS). 

About FedEx Ground

FedEx was a one man's dream. Fredrick Smith, CEO of the company had a dream of starting a air cargo shipping service and talked about it when he was a undergrad student at Yale university in 1965. He made his dream come true in 1971. FedEx Ground focuses on their personalized service, their customer satisfaction and competitive rates. They are always striving to meet and exceed expectations. FedEx Ground was a rebranded company of the prior Roadway Services which was acquired by FedEx Corp. in January 2000. 

Mission Statement

FedEx Crop. has a promise they make to their customers known as the Purple Promise: "I will make every FedEx experience outstanding". Their mission statement focuses on doing anything and everything it takes to satisfy the customers and providing high value-added logistic services. 

Manager we interviewed

We had the opportunity to interview Brenda Gutierrez, Area Manager for the FedEx Ground building in Edison, NJ. She has been working with the company for 9 years and has worked various positions. She hold a Bachelors degree in Educational Practitioner.
